Chicago Catholic Schools Chess League
1. Participants of the Catholic Chess
League
Any Catholic school team can participate in the Chess League. The team consists of 5 (five) players with any combination of boys and girls. Each Catholic school may have more than one team in any of the league categories: K-3 (for students in grades K to 3rd) and K-8 (for students in grades 4 through 8).

2. Schedule of the events for the
Catholic Schools Chess League
Each team should play at least 4 matches in their division (K-3 and K-8)to qualify for the final Catholic Schools Chess Championship to be held during the Catholic Schools Week in January 2010.
All matches will take places at the
Each pair of teams will play 2 matches with alternating of the color of the peaces for participants. The results will be in team points (win 2 points; draw 1 point; lost 0 points) and also accumulate each player points (maximum team points for a match is 10). Each board will have equal number of points.
The matches will be played on Fridays from 5:00 7:00 pm. Time control 30 min for each player to finish the game (maximum 1 hour for a game). Only one team match (2 games for each participant) will be played on each Friday.
Each team must be pre-registered by e-mail confirmation no later than a day before the match on their participation in a match. The league staff will make all pairings for the teams. When teams complete 4 matches they will be notified of the results and participation in the Catholic Schools Chess Championship.

3. Entrιe fee
Entree fee to participate in the Catholic Schools Chess League is $50 per team. All players will receive a participation medal. Team and individual trophies will be awarded during the Catholic Schools Chess Championship.
